Israeli airstrikes are killing civilians indiscriminately, mostly women and children. One child is being killed in an average of every 10 minutes. Entire families are being buried in the rubble of their own homes that are being bombed by Israel. The United States prevented a ceasefire in Gaza by vetoing a UN Security Council resolution. We need to inform everyday Americans that the United States is isolated in this position and it stands in stark contrast to that of about 153 countries that passed a Ceasefire Resolution in the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, December 12. This was a second such resolution in the General Assembly that has passed with a comfortable majority calling for a humanitarian Ceasefire, previously passing on October 27.
Informed citizens can then demand their elected representatives to in turn ask the Biden administration to seek an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.
The Muslim community from across Michigan is coming together in partnership with the Lansing Area Peace Education Center to bring awareness to our fellow citizens about this genocidal campaign against 2.3 million people, 1.8 million of whom are displaced from their homes, as over 56% of homes in Gaza are destroyed.

FAQ
Where will the billboards be placed?
Currently, we've pinpointed four billboard locations. Expect two near the Fowlerville Exit on I-96, 129, and two others in Southeast Michigan. As negotiations with the billboard vendor finalize, we'll promptly update the details on this page.
Are these signs digital?
No, they'll be static signs made of vinyl. Unlike digital signs that change frequently, these static ones ensure visibility even when driving at high speeds on the freeway.
Why the limited details on the signs?
Reading extensive text while driving at high speeds can be challenging. That's why we've opted for concise and impactful messages.
Why focus only on Ceasefire messages?
Currently, our primary goal is to bring an end to the tragic events in Gaza. If the budget allows or the situation evolves, we may consider incorporating other messages in the future.
Who is responsible for the signs?
The Lansing Area Peace Education Center, in collaboration with concerned citizens from across Michigan and beyond, is spearheading this initiative.
