COVID Safety Protocols and Interim Policies
Updated Safety Protocols and Policies at the Islamic Center
March 31st, 2022
In light of a declining number of COVID positivity cases in our area, the safety protocols and policies at the Islamic Center have been revised as follows:
1. Mask mandate lifted, but strongly encouraged.
2. No need to practice Social Distancing during congregational prayers, including Jummah
prayers
For 5 Daily Prayers
No more Social Distancing for vaccinated members - you may assemble shoulder to shoulder, in line for prayers.
For Jummah Khutba and Prayer
3. You no longer need to bring your own prayer rug. You are welcome to do so if that
makes you feel comfortable, or your health condition requires it.
4. Gym usage for sport
● Vaccinated members may resume normal sports activities in the Gym. Wearing
masks while playing sports is encouraged.
● Non-Immunized members MUST wear a mask while playing in the Gym.
5. Gym usage for other events Sport, Social, Educational, and other events may resume
in the Gym, up to a 150 person max capacity limit.
Other recommended safe health practices remain in place.
1. If you have COVID-19 symptoms, please pray at home until you are asymptomatic for at
least 5 days and preferably, until your repeat COVID test is negative.
2. If you are unvaccinated, we encourage you to pray at home until the current COVID
surge subsides. We will not however prohibit anyone from coming to the masjid.
Your continued cooperation has helped us stay open for all prayers. And for that, we thank you. Jazakum Allahu Khairan.

Janaza Policy in light of COVID-19
This pandemic has been hard on all of us and invariably every one of us have lost someone near and dear in our extended families and in our friend circles. The inability to extend condolences and support in traditional ways adds to our emotional strain. However, in light of the ongoing pandemic, we need to remind ourselves to follow the safety guidelines and the state regulations.

- Only the immediate family members and close friends or relatives can attend funerals in order that we can comply with the regulation.

- Please avoid offering condolences in-person. Please offer them via phone, email or using other virtual options. The best thing we can do is to pray for the deceased and the grieving family from our respective homes so we can be respectful of the grieving family's need to be safe as well.
